Context: While serving as VP of Engineering at Paramount, Mauricio led the re-platforming of Noggin's native mobile apps.
Problem: Legacy architecture limited scalability and content delivery.
Solution: Spearheaded the move to a cloud-native RESTful API architecture using Docker, AWS, and GitHub Actions.
Impact: Enabled a better user experience for over 1.3 million children in the U.S. and helped Noggin win the 2024 Kidscreen Award for Best Learning App.

B2B Cloud Migration at IBM

Context: As an Engineering Manager at IBM, Mauricio managed integrations for IBM's hardware field services.
Problem: An on-prem monolith was costly and hard to maintain.
Solution: Migrated the system to IBM Cloud, breaking down the monolith into Spring Boot microservices and reducing infrastructure costs by 57%.
Impact: Improved scalability, observability, and third-party integration capabilities.
